What is GRAND CYCLE TOKYO?

In order to make eco-friendly and healthy bicycles even more accessible, we are comprehensively promoting various bicycle-related events as part of the “GRAND CYCLE TOKYO” project. We hold “RAINBOW BRIDGE RIDE 2024” and “MULTISPORTS” in Bay area, and “THE ROAD RACE TOKYO,” a full-scale bicycle road race, in the Tama area.

Where will be the event venue?

RAINBOW BRIDGE RIDE 2024 will be held in Daiba, Umi no Mori(Sea Forest), and Wakasu areas. MULTISPORTS will be held at the finish line of the RAINBOW BRIDGE RIDE 2024 (Aomi District, Section NOP)

What kind of event is RAINBOW BRIDGE RIDE 2024?

This is a special event where participants can enjoy riding along Tokyo’s landmarks such as the Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo Gate Bridge.
Three courses are available for everyone from enthusiasts to families: long (approx. 35 km), middle (approx. 19 km), and short (approx. 8 km).

How long is each course: long, middle, and short?

The long course is 35 km, while the middle one is 19 km and the short one is 8 km.
The long course in Wakasu Seaside Park has been extended by about 3km from last year to approx.

What are the characteristics of each course?

The Middle and Short Courses allow you to ride on the Rainbow Bridge, while the Long Course allows you to ride on the Tokyo Gate Bridge in addition to the Rainbow Bridge.

How can I participate?

Entry is already closed.

How many participants are allowed?

The maximum number of participants is 6,000. This is 1,000 larger than last year.

When is the entry page open?

How will the participants be selected?

We conducted a lottery due to exceed of capacity and already sent a result.

If I am not selected, will there be a second round of applications?

Can I register as a group?

We accept group registrations. Details will be provided when we start accepting applications from participants.

Is there a discount for group registrations?

No discount for a group entry.

How do you register if you have more than 7 people who would like to apply?

The maximum number of applicants in one group is 6, therefore you need to apply with more than 2 groups.

If you apply as a group, is it possible to register for different courses?

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate it.

Can I bring my bicycle on public transportation?

Regulations by public transportation in Bay area are as follows. *Quotes from each public transportation organization’s website.

New Transit Yurikamome Bicycles must be completely packed in a wheeled bag, and those up to 2 meters in length may be carried in the train.

Tokyo Waterfront Area Rapid Transit Rinkai Line Bicycles must be folded or disassembled and placed completely in a special bag, and may be carried on board under the condition that they do not cause inconvenience to other passengers.

Odaiba Rainbow Bus Only folding bicycles are allowed on the bus, as long as they are covered. Other bicycles are not permitted.

Metropolitan buses Items whose total length, width, and height does not exceed 250 cm, whose length does not exceed 2 m, and whose weight does not exceed 30 kg may be carried in the car as personal belongings. Bicycles are allowed only if they are secured in motion and stored in a designated bag.

Tokyo Airport Transportation The following items may be carried in the cabin The bicycle can be folded or disassembled / The bicycle fits into a designated bag or box / The luggage fits into a designated bag or box within the standards specified by the Company (size: 50 cm long, 60 cm wide, 120 cm long, 30 kg) / The passenger agrees to accept liability for damage or breakage caused by shaking during transportation / * However, depending on conditions on the day of transportation, there may be cases the baggage cannot be accepted, so we cannot guarantee the transportation of baggage in advance.

Kanto Bus Bicycles etc. are not allowed on board.

Tokyo BRT Passengers are allowed to carry on board personal belongings within the following limits: total weight 10 kg, total volume 0.027 cubic meters, and length 1 meter.

For transportation other than the above, please check by yourself.

Can I rent a bicycle?

Yes, we will have bicycles available for rent.
However, the application for a rent is already closed.

Can I charge my electric bike at the venue?

There are no charging facilities available at the venue.
If you bring your own electric bicycle, please charge the battery enough for riding before arriving at the venue.

What are the qualifications for participation?

This event is open to third grade elementary school students and older.
There is no upper age limit, but participants must have the leg strength to complete each course within the estimated completion time, and must be in good health and able to ride safely without overexertion.

・Elementary school students (3rd grade and up) may participate. However, they must be accompanied by at least one parent or guardian (18 years old or above).
・Junior high school students may participate. However, a parent or guardian's consent is required.
*Preschool children may participate in the event in a specific vehicle only if the organizer determines that the parent/guardian can safely ride with the preschool child in the vehicle without being overstrained. (Only for the Middle and Short Courses)
(Specific vehicles are defined as a mama-chari (a bicycle with an electric power-assist system attached to the infant seat) for two passengers and a trailer, and participants must wear helmets and seat belts.)

Who can apply for the priority quota for ward residents?

Residents who live, work, or study in Minato-ku and Koto-ku are eligible to apply.

How much does it cost to participate in the program?

Fees vary depending on how you apply, the course, and your age.
Adult(18 years and older):Rainbow Long / 15,000yen, Rainbow Middle / 8,000yen, Rainbow Short / 6,000yen
3rd grade and above:Rainbow Long / 7,500yen, Rainbow Middle / 4,000yen, Rainbow Short /3,000yen
VIP:Rainbow Long、Rainbow Middle / 55,000yen

MULTISPORTS

What kind of event is MULTISPORTS?

MULTISPORTS is an event where you can experience a variety of sports including cycling. Anyone can participate on the day of the event. We have prepared enjoyable content for adults and children. We also plan to open food trucks.

Where will MULTISPORTS be held?

MULTISPORTS will be at the finish line of RAINBOW BRIDGE RIDE2024 (Aomi District, Section NOP)

Does MULTISPORTS charge an entrance fee?

It has no charge.

About THE ROAD RACE TOKYO

When is THE ROAD RACE TOKYO held?

It will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025.

Where will THE ROAD RACE TOKYO be held?

The race is planned to start at Musashino-no-mori Park and finish in Ome City(scheduled).

para-cycling, and events at the finishing point, etc.) will be provided as soon as the details are finalized.
